Our School Story

Scoil Sinéad Pelletstown Finglas National School is a welcoming, co-educational, multi-belief school serving families in Pelletstown, Scribblestown and Finglas. We are committed to nurturing the whole child intellectually, socially, emotionally and physically in a secure and respectful environment.

History of Scoil Sinéad National School, Pelletstown

Scoil Sinéad National School was established in 2017 to serve the growing community of Pelletstown and the wider Finglas area. The school was founded in response to the need for a modern, inclusive primary school that reflects the diversity of contemporary Irish society and supports children through high-quality, child-centred education.

From its establishment, Scoil Sinéad National School has operated under the patronage of Scoil Sinéad Ltd, an Irish patron body committed to multi-belief, inclusive education. The school was envisioned as a place where every child would feel a strong sense of belonging and be supported to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Since opening in 2017, the school has continued to grow and develop, responding thoughtfully to the needs of its pupils, families and community. Strong emphasis has been placed on:

  • Inclusive education and equality
  • Positive relationships and pupil wellbeing
  • High-quality teaching and learning
  • Experiential and active learning approaches
  • Partnership with parents and the wider community

Over the years, Scoil Sinéad National School has expanded its provision to include additional supports, whole-school initiatives and extra-curricular opportunities that enrich children’s learning experiences and promote engagement, confidence and resilience.

As a developing school, Scoil Sinéad National School remains committed to reflective practice and continuous improvement. Guided by the Primary Curriculum Framework, the school continues to evolve as a learning community, preparing children for the next stage of their education and for active participation in society.
